The T20 series between West Indies and England has been evenly poised, with the series leveled at 1-1. However, while the host quickly managed to win the first match, England made a commendable comeback in the second game.
The series is just getting more heated up with a cracker of T20 fireworks in the two games. So let’s look at what the third game has for us on Wednesday.
WI players to look forward to
Jason Holder
In both games, Jason Holder has proven to be the most effective bowler for West Indies. He has made the most out of these playing conditions with over six wickets in the two matches. Holder and West Indies would want him to continue with this in the remaining matches.
Akeal Hosein
If only individual performance can garner you a win in a cricket match, Akeal Hosein’s effort in the second game would have resulted in a WI win. Nevertheless, he has been exceptional and economical with the ball in the two games and continued from where he left against Pakistan. It wouldn’t hurt West Indies if Hosein continues to be as confident as he was in the last game with the bat because, most probably, the games between these two sides will continue to stretch down the batting order.
England players to look forward to
Jason Roy
The trend for England has been that Jason Roy fires early and other batters follow him. We saw something similar in the first two games, and the final result just complimented that notion. While he had an early setback in the first game, Roy made sure to produce a solid performance in the next game. We might see that form continuing in the coming matches as well.
Adil Rashid
Adil Rashid has continued to take wickets against WI in this series. Even in the first game where England batters gave in to the WI challenge, he still managed to grab a wicket in that affair. Eoin Morgan knows very well that Rashid is the key for their series win, and he’ll be used as such.
What can we expect?
The mood for the series is set, and it couldn’t get any better. The pitch favoring both pacers and spinners will be the trend for the remainder of the series. Hence, high possibility the game will go deep in both the innings, and the all-rounders will be the deciders of the result for the respective teams.
